Yoga Accessories- Yoga Socks
If you are a keen Yoga enthusiast who practices your
Yoga exercises regularly, you should be very familiar with yoga mat, something which you do
your yoga poses on. But have you ever heard of or use other yoga
accessories like yoga
socks to do these exercises?
Yoga socks are a relatively new creation
that seems to be a cross between a yoga mat and your common socks
but offer an anti-skid tread with tiny rubber pads on the sole to provide
grip on the floor during your exercises.
Yoga socks also provide good
protection from possible foot fungi especially when the weather is hot and
humid and as a result the wooded floors can become sweaty during yoga
practices.
However no matter how good yoga socks may
seem to be, they really cannot take the place of a yoga mat. The
function of the yoga mat is to be able to provide a firm grip to the floor to
prevent you slipping during practices. Yoga socks may
provide good grip only for certain types of yoga postures but not all of
them. For example if you are practicing certain types of asana-based yoga
styles you should use a thick yoga mat instead for your exercises.
Yoga Accessories- Yoga Strap
These straps are long cotton straps usually about 6
to 8 feet long that have a loop at its end much like a belt. These
yoga straps are used mostly by yoga beginners who used them
to improve their yoga poses. These beginners are usually less flexible in
their yoga postures and therefore find that these straps are a great help to
stay in a particular yoga pose longer while providing them greater
flexibility. An example how a yoga strap can help is that it
quite easily connects your hand to feet movements when you put the strap over
your feet. Using such yoga accessories help you slowly improve your
flexibility until you are able to do this pose without the yoga
strap.
Here is a video on how a yoga strap
can be used in your yoga exercises.
